About the role
The Operations Manager is responsible for planning and executing day-to-day branch operations, including scheduling employees, procuring and maintaining rental equipment, completing essential documentation, and assisting in billing for work performed. This role oversees all physical operations at the branch level, with all field employees reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Branch Manager with all aspects of branch operations.
- Supervise branch field and operations personnel to meet or exceed internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and positive interaction with customers and personnel through written, verbal, and/or face-to-face correspondence.
- Maintain all rental equipment by ensuring repairs, modifications, licensing, and registration are completed in a timely manner; order and maintain inventory of required parts.
- Ensure all vehicle and rolling stock maintenance is performed according to company and statutory regulations.
- Follow company and government policies to comply with all regulations, including licensing, travel logs, vehicle inspections, fuel reporting, BIT programs, vehicle registration, and drug testing (including DOT policies).
- Coordinate interbranch equipment movement as directed by the Rental Fleet Manager or assigned representative.
- Monitor branch operational expenses and provide variance reports on budget.
- Track and report billable hours worked to ensure accurate customer billing.
- Assist in determining needs for acquiring or disposing of equipment.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all branch computer operations and train staff on these functions.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear personal protective gear as required.
- Provide training and opportunities for training to direct staff; ensure no work is performed without appropriate training.
- Perform branch audits (safety, DOT, documentation, equipment, etc.) as dictated by SOP.
- Ensure the branch and yard are clean and housekeeping is maintained throughout the location.
