Operations Manager

About the role

Lincoln Electric Products Co. Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Bartlesville, OK. This individual will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the assembly department, driving efficiency, and ensuring the seamless execution of organizational goals. The Operations Manager will work collaboratively across departments to enhance productivity, implement process improvements, and contribute to the overall success of the business in a unionized manufacturing environment.

This full-time, exempt position reports directly to the Director of Operations and involves a hands-on approach in an office/shop environment. While this role primarily operates Monday through Friday, occasional Saturday work may be required based on business demands.

Responsibilities

• Develop production plans, schedule work activities, and ensure the availability of necessary resources (materials, tools, equipment) to meet production targets.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure all assembled switchgear systems meet required standards and specifications, including conducting inspections, tests, and audits.
• Identify and drive process improvements, optimize workflow, and enhance productivity, collaborating with engineering teams to implement enhancements or automation.
• Lead and supervise a team of assembly technicians and operators, providing guidance, training, and support for effective task performance.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, maintaining a safe work environment and addressing safety concerns.
• Oversee inventory levels, manage stock control, and ensure availability of required components and materials to avoid shortages or excesses.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and quality assurance departments to coordinate activities and address cross-functional issues.
• Monitor production performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare reports to evaluate productivity, quality, and other metrics.
• Analyze data and provide recommendations for operational improvements.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in custom metal fabrication of electrical equipment in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read blueprints, bill of materials (BOMs), schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine assembly methods.
• Experience in planning and level-loading factory workloads with a 3-4 week lookout to manage overtime expenses.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on inclusivity and teamwork.
• Knowledge of hand tools and measuring devices.
• Familiarity with Low Voltage or Medium Voltage Switchgear or components.
• Understanding of Operational Excellence and process improvement methodologies.
• Ability to work in a loud environment.
• Experience working in a union shop and familiarity with union labor laws is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Certification in Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies is preferred.
