Operations Manager

About the Role

This position oversees and directs all operational aspects of Inbound and Outbound activities, ensuring customer orders are processed and shipped efficiently, accurately, and on time. A key responsibility is managing operational expenses within forecasted budgets to drive positive EBIDTA results. The role involves developing operational action plans based on forecasts and business changes impacting the fulfillment center. You will also be expected to develop, grow, and identify talent within your team, conducting regular touch-bases with direct reports to ensure clear communication and operational alignment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain an innovative and positive team culture, fostering disciplined groups that complement each other.
• Lead, encourage, and facilitate effective communications within the team and among business partners.
• Mentor, support, and lead departmental supervisors in all aspects of their roles, providing tools and training to develop their abilities.
• Provide consistent and timely feedback with a focus on development.
• Oversee the physical workflow for function and department(s), managing daily operations and work volume.
• Make decisions and implement changes to improve throughput while adhering to existing policies and procedures to ensure standardization.
• Coordinate associate movement for proper staffing across all areas based on daily workload projections.
• Determine staffing needs and recommend scheduling adjustments to meet Service Level Agreements.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of e-commerce systems, including Manhattan WMS and Dematic sortation equipment.
• Provide analytical insights, feedback, and solutions to enhance operational efficiency, whether through process improvements or cost savings.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a high-energy, fast-paced, SLA-driven environment; e-commerce experience required.
• Experience managing multiple areas/shifts.
• Strong Labor Management experience.
• Proven track record of surpassing departmental and operational KPIs.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in developing the skills and abilities of team members.
• Excellent time management, organizational skills, and problem-solving acumen.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage effectively with multiple levels of business partners.
• Strong warehouse management system (WMS) knowledge; Manhattan WMS preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position located in Greencastle, Indiana.
