Responsibilities
- General Transportation Oversight
- Oversight of transportation and logistics operations
- Route optimization, fleet management, and driver management
- Compliance with DOT regulations, safety protocols, and HOS adherence
- Monitoring and analysis of key transportation metrics
- Financial indicator analysis (cost per mile, maintenance and repair costs, fleet utilization)
- Identification and resolution of operational constraints
- Cross-functional coordination and continuous improvement solutions
- Coordination of Business Review meetings
- Staffing level management
- General Warehouse Oversight
- Inbound and outbound logistics management
- Inventory control and order fulfillment
- Warehouse layout optimization
- SOPs, HACCP standards, and OSHA safety regulations compliance
- System implementation and maintenance (S2K, BFC Dakota, SelectPrime)
- Alignment of warehouse operations with strategic organizational goals
- Establishment of baseline production and quality metrics
- Regular Business Reviews for alignment with organizational goals
- Cross-shift and cross-functional meeting coordination
- Shift Operations Management
- Safety protocol monitoring
- Productivity and quality enhancement through communication, coaching, and enforcement of best practices
- Facilitation of training sessions
- Auditing and corrective action implementation for accidents and damages
- Leadership and Team Management
- Supervision of warehouse management, porters, pickers, replenishment staff, shipping & receiving teams, and transportation staff
- Regular team evaluations and development plan creation
- Training sessions on technology, safety, and operational procedures
- Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in business management, logistics, supply chain or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years previous management experience, preferably in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Suite and other software programs
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective coaching and feedback provision to supervisors and staff
- Promotion of positive team morale through effective communication and recognition
