OPERATIONS MANAGER

As an employee-owned SDVOSB headquartered in Huntsville, AL, our team delivers mission-critical impact for the Army, Air Force, Space Force, MDA, NASA, DIA, and FBI. This Operations Manager role supports the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), managing complex projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring successful delivery of critical support to meet customer objectives.
You will provide direct support to SMDC Senior Leaders in program operations, implement overarching data strategy, and conduct special projects as required. Responsibilities include organizational studies and evaluations, system design, work-simplification and measurement studies, and preparing operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Senior SMDC personnel, prime contractor, and other stakeholders to align program objectives and deliverables.
- Aid in the development of long-term vision, strategic goals, and business processes to guide the organization’s success.
- Ensure execution of day-to-day operations and their alignment with the organization's mission.
- Advise leadership on all aspects of fiscal operations ensuring compliance and successful execution within the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution process.
- Track team’s performance using appropriate metrics, preparing detailed reports for leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program success.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in business, engineering, science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of management experience.
- A minimum of 15 years supporting Department of Defense organizations.
- Strong understanding of SMDC mission and functions, project management methodologies, and defense technologies related to space and missile defense.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
