Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager oversees operations including supervising and supporting all programs and services at FMC Ice Sports facilities. Responsibilities include routine maintenance and janitorial functions, preventative maintenance tasks, and shift coverage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee routine maintenance and janitorial functions of the facility while it is open to the public
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks at Marlboro, Franklin, and Hopedale facilities
• Work independently and with other positions as needed to meet facility activities schedule
• Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays as necessary

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years' work experience in an ice arena with some level of responsibility to operations and maintenance functions
• Self-starter with ability to analyze situations and develop solutions to problems with minimal supervision
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a variety of individuals and groups interested in recreational matters
• Ability to develop innovative ideas for increasing sales and controlling costs
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively
• Flexibility to work varying hours especially as seasons and service needs change
• Prior proven ability to work with and understand the needs of children of various ages and be committed to working with participants from diverse backgrounds
• Valid Driver's License and compliance with safety regulations regarding operation of an ice resurfacer and ice edger

• Knowledge of equipment related to ice arena operations
