About the role

The Operations Manager for the Hotel Division of Summit Hospitality Group leads all front-desk operations, including staff training, inter-department communication, and scheduling. This highly visible role ensures adherence to corporate policies, franchise brand standards, and guest satisfaction through prompt, friendly problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage short- and long-term Front Office operations.
  • Develop and recommend budgets and labor-cost plans with the AGM & GM.
  • Strictly adhere to the approved operational budget.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels to meet customer-service goals.
  • Maintain guest-room inventory.
  • Coach and counsel employees to reflect Corporate and Brand Service Standards.
  • Perform all Front Office tasks as needed to facilitate service (coding invoices, daily deposits, accounts receivable, scheduling, petty-cash processing, room inspections).
  • Maintain excellent communication with the Housekeeping Department.
  • Keep current on prices, rates, special packages, and programs.
  • Investigate, analyze, resolve, and report guest complaints promptly.
  • Set expectations, lead teams, manage processes, and hold staff accountable.
  • Cover open shifts due to call-offs or low business levels.
  • Work all shifts, including weekends and evenings.
  • Develop and train subordinates.
  • Inspect public areas to ensure proper cleanliness.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Non-exempt associates are expected to work a 50-hour week (including weekends/evenings); hours beyond 50 require supervisor approval.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience with name-brand hotel/restaurant companies.
  • 2–5 years of progressive management experience preferred.
  • Service-oriented style with professional presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree is an asset.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, and motivational leadership.
  • Interest in career progression in hotel/hospitality management.

Work Environment
