Operations Manager

Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the facility supporting production, distribution, safety, sales, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Strict adherence and compliance with quality assurance requirements.
• Work with internal and external Clayton staff to meet organizational requirements.
• Be safety minded and ability to put Safety 1st – must adhere to strict safety rules and guidelines.
• Review production performance and drive training opportunities of production personnel, as necessary.
• Effectively communicate and lead Team to meet/maintain vision for success.
• Direct teams effectively in each department to ensure timelines and production priorities are met.
• Provide sound leadership, coaching, mentoring, and direction for personnel development and team member engagement.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within production processes to improve overall safety, quality, reduce lead-times, and lower cost.
• Makes operational changes leading to positive impacts on financials.
• Monitors and measures costs of operations by using Lean Manufacturing methods, 5S, Kaizen, etc. applications where necessary.
• Track and communicate to the Team Members and Senior Leadership the KPIs daily as it pertains to production.
• Review the P&L statement and make operational changes leading to positive impacts on financials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business (preferred) or Operations Management or related field needed.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant leadership experience.
• Previous experience within cabinet manufacturing; preferred.
• Experience with ERP/Oracle is a plus.
• Experience with Project Planning/Management, Capex and budgeting.
• Working knowledge of P&L statements.
• Experience with Quality Programs and Root Cause Analysis – i.e. ISO9001, 8D 5 Why.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing environment preferred.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as basic math skills.
• Must be detail-oriented and can multi-task effectively.
• Ability to read and understand building specifications greatly desired.
• Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols.
• Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a changing, fast-paced work environment.
