OPERATIONS MANAGER
About the role
The New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is recruiting for three (3) Administrative Director of Social Services M-I positions to function as Operations Managers. These roles will oversee teams managing intake and temporary housing assistance for single adult men through DHS.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Directors of Intake to ensure residents receive essential services in a safe, clean, and secure environment.
- Supervise a diverse staff, including supervisors, SAIs, Community Coordinators, and various support personnel.
- Manage operational oversight, including bed management, nightly census reporting, adequate staffing, nightly bed checks, and addressing residents' needs.
- Maintain proper storage of client property and oversee the distribution of meals, transportation fares, and other necessary services.
- Ensure adherence to all operational procedures and maintain facility cleanliness according to Agency and regulatory standards.
- Accurately document daily activities and reports, assess and evaluate job performance, and enforce Agency program guidelines.
- Assist with managing crises involving clients and staff, implementing strategic goals and operational plans.
- Supervise building operations, evaluate the program, and make policy recommendations to enhance efficiency.
- Interpret Agency policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant state and local laws, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience in social services, including one year at the administrative or managerial level; or Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. Graduate education or a license may substitute for up to a maximum of three years of experience in social services, but not for the one year of experience at the administrative or managerial level as described in "1" above. A valid New York State Registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) may substitute for three years of experience.

Salary
$68,213.00 – $187,716.00
