The Plant Operations Manager is responsible for production, mill, maintenance, reliability, and Warehousing functions, ensuring the efficient operation of the Gypsum Board plant - achieving safety, quality, service, and cost goals. This Position Is Responsible For The overall success of the plant. The majority of the hourly workforce, the role substantially impacts the success or failure of the business.
Leading a 24/7 manufacturing operation, all equipment and physical plant maintenance.
Having a strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers and a solid knowledge of peer functional areas like Production, Process & Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Employee Relations, Purchasing, Materials processing, and Continuous Improvement.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
BA/BS or equivalent experience in a Business, Engineering, or a related field
7-10 years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment
7+ years Technical Operations, with increasing levels of responsibility and autonomy
Proven ability to be an outstanding coach and leader, with succession planning and employee development skills
Active interest and success in people development, training systems and error proofing
Familiarity with Lean / World Class principles and practices
Ability to provide leadership and innovation at all levels of the organization utilizing differing styles of management; from directive, to coaching and support, through delegative, as the situation arises
Change management and conflict management skills
Strong influencer and communicator
Results driven, flexible and open-minded with good written and oral communication
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
