About the role
The Operations Manager at Cameron Ashley Building Products is responsible for overseeing a team of warehouse employees, managing inventory, and assisting with logistics. This role plays a crucial part in supporting purchasing and sales operations.
Responsibilities
- Selects, develops, and motivates assigned warehouse personnel
- Motivate and encourage teamwork to ensure set productivity targets are met
- Conduct a daily safety walk-through to ensure the warehouse is organized, clean, and safe
- Enforce company policies of conduct and safety, and initiate disciplinary action as needed
- Conduct monthly safety meetings and quarterly driver safety meetings
- Responsible for inventory accuracy, conducting daily cycle counts, identifying product losses, and implementing corrective action
- Implement and maintain a bin location system to aid in storage and picking of goods
- Aid warehouse employees in loading and unloading trucks
- Control costs through personnel productivity, efficient storage space utilization, and proper material protection
- Manage planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment to ensure they are running properly and meet safety standards
- Manage PeopleNet computer system in company trucks to monitor driver's hours of service and on-duty time, ensuring compliance with Federal DOT regulations
- Plan material transportation requirements, organize delivery routes, and place resources to optimize delivery efficiency and profitability
- Monitor shipping to ensure accurate and timely product delivery
Requirements
- Prefer 2 years prior experience in a supervisory position
- Minimum of 3 years of forklift experience
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Pass drug test and background verification
- Authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship for any length of time
