Operations Manager
About the role
Manages and directs the daily activities of branch operations and assists the General or Regional Manager with duties and responsibilities. Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficient delivery of products and services; maintain compliance with company policies and procedures and implement plans to accomplish goals.
Responsibilities
- Aids the General or Regional Manager in achieving annual revenue, profit, and staffing plans.
- Responsible for successfully planning, controlling, and managing product and service deliveries to ensure that customer needs are met.
- Hires and maintains a productive staff. Ensure employees are trained and prepared for career growth.
- Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities under the direction of the General Manager.
- Maintains a high level of organization, tracking unresolved issues, including customer complaints, and brings them to resolution.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the business ensuring operations in accordance with company policies and procedures to include review of P&L with GM/RM and Finance department.
- Promotes adherence to ISO Quality and Environmental Management and 5S policies and procedures. Recommend improvements to these systems.
- Perform analytical functions, assessing situations quickly to determine the most beneficial resolution to opportunities while maintaining focus and delivering results within agreed-upon time frame.
Requirements
- Fluid Power product knowledge with emphasis on Parker products.
- Demonstrate leadership skills, remain task-focused, and manage his/her time to meet predetermined deadlines.
- High level of integrity.
- Ability to properly convey ideas or concepts.
- Demonstrated analytical skills from past projects and assignments.
- Ability to grasp and understand business concepts and issues.
- Proper listening, oral and written skills, and command of the English language.
- Understand the need and can make critical decisions while following company procedures.

- Demonstrate ability to remain task-focused and manage his/her time to meet predetermined deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or university) or equivalent industry experience. A minimum of three years’ related experience in fluid power or industrial distribution.
Skills
After hire, the following skills will be taught as needed: Product Training, Management Skills, ISO Training, Microsoft Office Training, Safety Training, Payroll and Attendance and Performance Management software, P21, CRM and Lean principles.
Certificates & Licenses
Certified Fluid Power Specialist certificate is desired but not required. Valid Driver’s License, Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
Work Environment
Able to travel by car within several hundred miles of their branch and overnight occasionally; some air travel expected. Works in an indoor controlled and uncontrolled environment with occasional work outside.
