Operations Manager

About the role

Our Construction Equipment group is seeking a highly organized, process-oriented Operations Manager to oversee and support our South Elgin location. This role will focus on driving efficiency across service, parts, and rental functions while building a strong, cohesive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily branch operations across service, parts, and rental departments.
• Implement, monitor, and refine processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with Service and Parts Managers to ensure alignment with company goals and performance metrics.
• Lead and support staff development, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.
• Manage operational KPIs including technician efficiency, parts turns, rental utilization, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure accurate reporting, cost control, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance branch performance and customer service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operations or branch management experience in heavy equipment, automotive, construction, or related industries.
• Strong organizational and process management skills with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to build and lead cohesive, high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of service department workflows, parts inventory control, and rental operations.
• Proficiency with business systems (ERP, CRM, or dealership management software preferred).
• Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will talk/hear; Frequently will stand, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms; Occasionally will walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Pay

The expected base salary for this role ranges between $90,000 - $115,000 USD based on candidate experience, plus potential bonuses.
