About the Role

In this role, you will oversee daily production activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, and operational excellence while supporting customer and business needs. Responsibilities
- Leads daily manufacturing activities to safely achieve production, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Provides leadership, direction, and development for operations employees by establishing objectives and executing performance management activities.
- Supports Process Safety Management through participation in Management of Change processes and ensuring operating discipline throughout the manufacturing organization.
- Aligns with Maintenance personnel to prioritize repair activities and ensure the safe handover of equipment through activities such as work permit authorization and lockout tagout.
- Drives Continuous Improvement through tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Supports Quality Management System efforts through ownership of detailed operating procedures, execution of corrective actions, and participation in internal audit programs.
- Collaborates with Planning personnel to optimize production schedules, manage manufacturing capacity, and align resources to meet customer demand and inventory targets.
- Manages departmental operating costs through ownership of annual operating plans, material usage variance reduction, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Creates a positive employee engagement culture through effective communication, teamwork, accountability, and recognition while maintaining a respectful workplace environment.
- Ensures all personal activities adhere to Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Standards and demonstrates Visible Safety Leadership through regular plant walkthroughs.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment—preferably in pharmaceutical or chemical plants.
- Detailed, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and develop plans to execute daily operational needs while maintaining focus on longer-term strategic goals.
- Ability to work collaboratively but also take a hands-on approach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is strongly preferred.
- High level of proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office, SAP, LIMS, PI, BI, DCS/PLCs, and similar systems.
