Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the Tangipahoa Community Health Center. Key responsibilities include ensuring efficient clinic operations, appropriate staffing, patient access, scheduling, patient flow, customer service, facility readiness, and adherence to established AHL policies and procedures. The position works closely with providers, clinical staff, behavioral health staff, front-desk personnel, and regional and organizational leadership to promote a positive patient experience and efficient delivery of care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the Tangipahoa Community Health Center
• Ensure efficient clinic operations, appropriate staffing, patient access, scheduling, patient flow, customer service, facility readiness, and adherence to established AHL policies and procedures
• Work closely with providers, clinical staff, behavioral health staff, front-desk personnel, and regional and organizational leadership to promote a positive patient experience and efficient delivery of care
• Provide operational coordination for AHL services delivered in partnership with Early Head Start and Head Start locations within the assigned service area, including staffing coordination, scheduling, care coordination, communication with participating locations, and support for outreach and enrollment activities

Requirements

• Prior healthcare or management experience, or medical certification/degree is a plus
• Bilingual candidate is also a plus

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in public health, nursing, business administration, operations, or related field. Master’s degree, a plus
• Years of experience may be substituted in lieu of advanced degree

• Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records required
• Must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills; exhibits calm, professional attitude in stressful situations and interactions
• Maintains professional composure under stress, as in emergency situations
• Communicates with patients, physicians, and other staff in verbal and written form
• Good listening skills, alert, analytic ability, problem-solving ability with use of creative skills, good memory and concentration, good judgment, initiative and patience
