About the role
As the Operations Manager for the largest distribution center in our network, you will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with various departments to create and maintain a safe, secure, efficient, and comfortable working environment. Your role involves managing budgets, overseeing business activities, streamlining workflows, allocating resources to maximize efficiency and profitability, implementing safety initiatives, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training, policies, procedures, and programs to maintain a safe and secure work environment for the site.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), enforce quality control, and ensure all operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor staff. Conduct regular performance reviews and manage scheduling.
- Manage financial forecasts, track operational budgets, and oversee inventory or supply chain logistics.
- Oversee operations to ensure waste and production costs are minimized and conformance to safety and quality standards.
- Communicate performance standards to associates, recognize and reward individual and team accomplishments, and counsel performance problems.
- Assist in establishing longer-term strategic plans for the plant.
- Mentor and motivate associates, providing training and development to optimize their performance and personal growth.
- Ensure all associates have the resources and capabilities to effectively accomplish their responsibilities.
- Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to team members.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of this job classification.
Requirements
- 3 to 7+ years of management or industry-specific experience.
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of building systems, financial forecasting, inventory tracking software, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis.
- Experience in leading and managing operations improvement projects, including planning, budgeting, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools.
- Prior experience in leading a team.
- Proven ability to remain calm in fast-paced and stressful situations.
