About the role
The O&M Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of liquified natural gas (LNG) equipment and systems related to ongoing LNG operations in a safe and efficient manner while working a rotating shift.
Responsibilities
- Takes equipment readings, conducts inspections, and performs maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Works without supervision, performing cleaning, CMMS compliance, and completing regulatory required training.
- Performs field operations and maintenance activities while working a rotating shift.
- Loads trucks through all weather conditions.
- Performs mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of LNG plant equipment including but not limited to pumps, engines, motors, fans, hoists, compressors, piping, valves, filters, traps, and meters.
- Takes equipment readings, interprets abnormal readings and alarms to take predesignated corrective action including activation of emergency equipment and procedures.
- Operates all plant equipment as required for type of process in operation, liquefaction, trucking, and stand-by.
- Notifies Supervision of any abnormalities.
- Interprets electrical schematics, piping, and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and process flow diagrams (PFD).
- Completes work orders for inspections, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
- Completes company-sponsored training as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Working Relationships
The O&M Technician reports to the O&M Supervisor and collaborates with all other plant personnel.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Physical requirements include working outside in all weather conditions, standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, cryogenic gloves, and low and medium voltage protective equipment, etc.).
- Ability to work in Class 1 Div 2 hazardous environment is required.
Work Schedule
Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
