Job Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing and support equipment, including manual fixtures, PCBA test equipment, automation equipment, label printers, and other operational assets.
- Respond to day-to-day equipment issues and line-down events by troubleshooting, repairing, or escalating problems to restore operations safely and efficiently.
- Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or abnormal operation and take appropriate corrective action to reduce downtime and prevent recurrence.
- Auxiliary equipment change parts, adjustments, setup verification, and functional checks to ensure readiness for production use.
- Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and help implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Follow approved procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements when performing maintenance activities in production areas.
Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks on time and in accordance with equipment procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and site requirements.
- Complete routine inspections, functional checks, basic calibrations, and replacement of wear components as required to maintain equipment performance.
- Maintain tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials needed to support timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Document completed work accurately in maintenance logs, work orders, or CMMS systems to support equipment history and traceability.
- Identify opportunities to improve PM effectiveness, equipment uptime, and maintenance efficiency through feedback and continuous improvement.
- Support compliance with FDA Quality Management System Regulation, ISO 13485, and internal quality requirements applicable to equipment maintenance and servicing.
- Assist with maintenance-related investigations, nonconformances, CAPAs, and audit requests by providing accurate records and technical input.
- Maintain equipment identification, status labeling, and service history records to support traceability, inspection readiness, and controlled operations.
Cross-Functional Support & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Facilities teams to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption to production.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering in the installation, qualification, and validation of equipment, including execution support for IQ/OQ/PQ activities in accordance with approved protocols and procedures.
- Place purchase requisitions for spare parts, maintenance supplies, and engineering support project needs to help ensure timely execution of maintenance and equipment-related activities.
- Assist with installation, qualification, movement, or decommissioning of equipment as directed and in accordance with approved procedures.
- Communicate equipment status, unresolved issues, and maintenance needs clearly during shift handoffs and with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, recommending practical solutions, and helping standardize maintenance practices.
Safety & Work Practices
- Follow all applicable Environmental Health & Safety requirements, including lockout/tagout, PPE, electrical safety, and safe use of tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure equipment is returned to safe operating condition after maintenance activities are completed.
- Escalate safety, quality, or compliance concerns promptly and stop work when conditions could affect product quality or personnel safety.
- Participate in required training and maintain qualifications needed to perform maintenance tasks in a regulated manufacturing environment.
