About the role

This position plans, organizes, and controls the C-17 Operational Training Sites from conceptual stages, proposals, and through program life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the C-17 Training System Operations and Maintenance Program, including all C-17 Training Sites.
  • Oversee day-to-day progress of the sites through constant interaction with site managers, instructors, engineers, technicians, government representatives, and training support personnel.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate program staff at various CONUS and OCONUS C-17 training sites.
  • Apply change, risk, and resource management to complex programs using various tools.
  • Ensure sites comply with Union Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and participate in grievance, arbitration, or CBA renegotiations.
  • Collaborate daily with functional areas such as engineering, marketing, manufacturing, logistics, cybersecurity, and operations to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
  • Participate in overall program management discipline evolution within the organization.
  • Analyze and resolve simple to moderately complex problems using project management tools.
  • Provide technical expertise and training to other CAE USA departments in support of the program.
  • Maintain teaming associations with subcontractors and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Prepare, conduct, and run medium to large technical and management meetings with internal and external customers.
  • Proactively provide leadership and continual feedback on key program metrics and contract activities using existing tools and feedback mechanisms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Military Air Mobility Management experience.
  • C-17 experience required; experience managing C-17 training at the Wing, Group, and Squadron Level.
  • Strong knowledge of the C-17 flight simulator and training services market, including experience managing the development of training solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software is advantageous.
  • Outstanding leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to reason, plan, direct, and evaluate situations to make recommendations beneficial to the program and company.
  • Demonstrated leadership with complex reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customer representatives, top management, and public groups.
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

  • Former C-17 Evaluator/Instructor.
  • Former C-17 Squadron, Group, or Wing Commander.
  • C-17 Weapons School Graduate.
  • Graduate-level coursework.
  • Complex financial managerial skills, including budgetary and proposal activities.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting.

Security Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures.
  • Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials in any form.
  • Shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know.
  • Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval.
  • All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company-provided resources.
  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment

  • Ability to travel extensively, nationally, and internationally, for extended periods.
  • Ability to handle essential duties and responsibilities worldwide.
  • Work will be performed in an office environment.
  • Periodic activities in a simulator high-bay environment.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to operate a personal computer and communicate via telephone.
  • Ability to work many hours under pressure.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
