Operations & Maint Tech 3

About the role

We are looking for an Operations & Maintenance Technician based in Bakersfield, California. This role reports to the Operations and Maintenance Supervisor and involves monitoring plant equipment, responding to alarms, executing plant shutdown/startup procedures, and ensuring safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Health and safety
• Strong working knowledge of ContourGlobal Health & Safety Management System
• Coach and mentor employees on safety practices
• Verify job tasks are reviewed before initiation and after changes
• Communicate incidents and potential adverse events to leadership
• Main Duties
• Perform routine rounds, inspect machinery, and report irregularities
• Maintain logs and ensure safe and economical operation of equipment
• Start and secure equipment, perform water chemistry tests, regenerate filters, adjust equipment, operate heavy equipment, operate overhead crane, and perform maintenance work
• Operate and maintain electrical control devices and perform rigging work
• Implement and maintain preventative maintenance and spare parts inventory tracking system
• Identify and correct hazardous conditions
• Auxiliary duties such as assisting in scheduled and forced outage maintenance, work planning, and spare parts procurement
• Continuous Improvement
• Encourage team members to identify and initiate improvements

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 2 years of operations experience
• Ability to understand and follow procedures specific to the area of assignment
• Experience in process manufacturing or power production settings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Organizational skills
• Self-directed and able to work well with others
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word)
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to perform maintenance on electrical control equipment

Pay and Benefits
