Operations Line Leader (Line Manager)
Key Responsibilities
- System Owner Owns Human and Food safety for the line/system and the plan to improve
- Single point of ownership for the delivery of the line/system improvement; owns delivery of line targeted results including financials
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and coaching to team members
- Builds capability in operators to identify, measure and drive out losses on their equipment
- Owns identifying training gaps for the operators and technicians on the system as well as developing and ensuring execution of training plan to address these gaps
- Drive continuous improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by empowering employees to utilize lean manufacturing tools.
- Manage the team: on-shift safety, quality of product, execution of shift specific improvement plan actions
- Daily staffing and leading work of operators and technicians including:
- Shift Hand-offs
- Onboarding of new employees
- Support team development
- Support performance management and incentives programs
- Own accuracy and timeliness of performance metrics for shift
- Start-up and changeover execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Management and 2+ years of related manufacturing experience
- Prior supervisory or lead experience is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated capability in the application of Continuous Improvement tools
- Demonstrated basic technical capability on at least one product platform
- Shift flexibility including extended hours, weekends or holidays as needed
