About the role

The Operations Lead at ODW Logistics directs logistics efforts in the distribution center, oversees loading and unloading of products, and performs other material handling tasks. Responsibilities

  • Protects the accuracy, integrity, and salability of client inventory through adherence to standard operating procedures and meeting physical inventory and/or cycle count accuracy expectations.
  • Directs appropriate warehousing team.
  • Runs all necessary reports to determine effective actions to maximize building capacity.
  • Completes all required documentation on inbound and outbound documents.
  • Reads and understands general instructions and prepares written reports.
  • Uses company’s warehouse management system and time keeping system.
  • Handles products according to customer and employer procedures.
  • Completes warehouse worksheet.
  • Communicates and advises supervisor of operational issues involving other departments.
  • Understands company goals and creates an environment for success.
  • Supports company safety, quality, and productivity initiatives.
  • Interacts with various levels of local management concerning daily activities.
  • Complies with all other procedures outlined in the Operations & Procedure Manual.
  • Communicates effectively with Transportation, Warehouse, Management, Co-workers, and Customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of previous Operations Lead experience in a distribution center.
  • 3 years of Forklift experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Warehouse Management System experience.
  • Able to excel in a team-oriented environment and lead teams to achieve safety, productivity, and quality goals.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on approach to handling materials and equipment.
  • Physical demands include continuous sitting, typing, repetitive wrist motion, occasional standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, and reaching.
  • Must have focus to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment according to specific operating procedures.
  • Works in a fast-paced environment for 95% of the time on the warehouse floor.

Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Warehouse Management System experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
