About the role
The Operations Lead supports operational sustainment, continuity, and service delivery for a client program. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating day-to-day operational execution across infrastructure, cybersecurity, database administration, testing, development support, configuration management, and business support functions.
- Maintaining operational stability and ensuring stable, responsive, and uninterrupted mission operations.
- Coordinating sustainment activities across the Operations Support Team.
- Supporting continuity of operations during transition, onboarding, release, and modernization activities.
- Leading operational incident coordination, issue triage, escalation management, and service restoration activities.
- Maintaining visibility into operational status, risks, issues, escalations, and support activities.
- Providing timely communication and operational transparency to Program Management and Government stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, automation, monitoring, and support responsiveness.
- Collaborating with engineering and platform teams to improve operational readiness and deployment quality.
Required Qualifications
- Secret – Fully Cleared Only, must confirm clearance is active
- DoD 8140 intermediate certification or DoD 8570 IAM Level II certifications or higher
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise operational environments, production support, or IT sustainment activities
- Experience coordinating operational support activities across multiple technical disciplines
- Experience supporting mission-critical or high-availability systems
- Strong understanding of operational support processes, issue management, and sustainment coordination
- Experience working within Agile or hybrid Agile delivery environments
- Strong communication, organizational, and coordination skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced operational environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Agile development teams of 20+ FTEs and familiar with Agile methodologies
- Prior Department of Defense (DoD) or Air Force support experience
- Experience supporting enterprise systems within secure cloud or hybrid environments
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD, or modern operational support models
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, Service Management, or operational tracking platforms
- Experience supporting operational transitions or onboarding efforts
- ITIL, Scrum, Agile, Security+, or related certifications preferred
- Experience supporting data-intensive or enterprise maintenance systems preferred
