About the role
This is a hands-on builder role in a resource-lean environment. The position involves managing various aspects of the company's operations including EDI/SPS Commerce, co-manufacturer order planning, vendor/3PL management, pricing/negotiation, and retailer compliance. The primary systems used are Cin7 Core and ERP.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day operations (EDI/SPS Commerce, co-manufacturer order planning, vendor/3PL management, pricing/negotiation, retailer compliance, ERP administration)
- Support sales execution (forecast inputs, retail readiness)
- Order-to-Cash & EDI: Own retailer/wholesaler EDI flows (850/855/856/810/945) with major translators; drive document accuracy and on-time ASNs.
- Manage SPS Commerce relationship and work flows
- New customer EDI set up and flow
- Manage retailer compliance (routing guides, ticketing/labels, pack & pallet specs, MABD/OTIF-style expectations)
- Planning & Fulfillment: Work with Sales department to convert demand signals into SKU-weekly supply and allocation plans; maintain min/max and safety stock.
- Schedule production/inbound POs; manage 3PL (RJW) wave/pick/ship and SLAs for ambient warehousing.
- Systems & Data (ERP): Administer our ERP (Cin7 Core): items, pack configs, SO/PO flows, price lists, EDI integrations, reporting.
- Publish source-of-truth dashboards for inventory, service level, backorders, and forecast accuracy.
- Vendors & Costing: Own vendor & 3PL relationships: quotes, price negotiations, lead times, and quarterly business reviews. Maintain landed-cost inputs in ERP; support price-list updates.
- Quality & Compliance: Coordinate packaging/label changes, GS1/UPC management, case/pallet specs, and code dating suitable for shelf-stable products.
Success Looks Like
- ≥ 98% EDI document accuracy & on-time transmission
- ≥ 96% case-fill / on-time ship at 3PL
- ≤ 1.0 stockouts per SKU per quarter; MAPE ? 20% on A-SKUs
- < 10 business days from award to order-ready onboarding
- Zero preventable compliance chargebacks per quarter
What You’ve Done (Must-Haves)
- 3–7+ years in CPG operations with direct ownership of EDI, retailer compliance, and 3PL execution (shelf-stable/ambient preferred).
- EDI Mapping knowledge and experience. Preferably SPS Commerce experience.
- Hands-on ERP ownership (required). Cin7 Core experience is a plus (not required) — or clear evidence you ramp quickly on new ERPs.
- Demonstrated order planning & allocation across multiple channels/re retailers.
- Strong vendor/3PL management and price negotiation track record.
- Advanced Google Sheets/Excel; ability to turn messy data into reliable signals.
- Builder mindset comfortable as a first hire.
Nice to Have
- Experience launching into Target and/or Kroger (portals, EDI testing, routing, compliance).
- Walmart vendor/retail rollout familiarity.
- GS1/UPC management and packaging workflows.
- Experience with major EDI providers (SPS).
Work Model & Travel
Remote. Light travel trade shows, or 3PL audits (5-10%).
Compensation, Benefits, Plan
- Salary: $100,000
- Quarterly Bonus: 10% of realized COGS reduction realized in the quarter
- $1,000 bonus: ≥ 96% case-fill / on-time ship at 3PL per quarter
- $1,000 bonus: ≤ 1.0 stockouts per quarter
- $1,000 bonus: $Zero preventable compliance chargebacks per quarter
