Operations Equipment Validation Technician - Part Time

Duties & Responsibilities/Expectations

• Support the CruzAlta Equipment Validation team with the following tasks.
• a. Work under the direct supervision of the EV Project lead for the duration of the execution.
• b. Assist with setting up and staging the lab equipment that will be part of the EV support.
• c. Walking out piping circuits to identify and tag sample locations.
• d. Be able to catch samples in the field at locations identified as part of the project scope.
• e. Might possibly communicate with site contractors (mechanical fitters) as they support any changes to equipment in the field that will support the objective of the project. Sample locations, utility’s location etc.
• f. Be able to climb and spend significant time in the field to support the client / project objectives.
• g. Be able to support troubleshooting and help solve problems relative to diagnosing cross contamination potential where identified by sample condition data.
• h. Have a basic level of competency when it comes to hazard recognition and basic safety protocol to ensure, we maintain safety vigilance in a petrochemical / refinery environment.
• i. Assists Project Lead as requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities (Direct and indirect)

None. Will report to the Project Lead on site for the duration of the execution support.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have working knowledge of valves /piping systems and a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly and confidently (strong communication skills- written and verbal).
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems while supporting the project.
• Performs work safely in all settings.

Preferred Experience and Training

• Mechanical aptitude or formal mechanical education. Preference is given to those with process knowledge of upgrader, refinery, or petrochemical units.

Required Certificates and/or Licenses

• Valid driver’s license
• TWIC Card
• Basic Plus

Working Conditions

The Company requires passing a pre-employment physical in which an objective medical professional will determine whether you can safely meet the physical demands of the position.

Duration of Workhours During Project Executions:

• Typically, 12 continuous hours that may extend up to 16 – 18 hours if an emergent need exists, for up to 14 days in a row.
• Day shift and/or night shift.
