Part-Time Facilities Operations Technician
Job Summary
As the Part-Time Facilities Operations Technician, you will help create a welcoming, person-centered resident experience while ensuring the community remains safe, clean, and fully operational. This role combines facility maintenance, custodial support, groundskeeping, apartment turnover preparation, and technology support.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and apartment turnovers (painting, drywall, fixtures, lock changes, and cleaning).
- Complete custodial and groundskeeping duties including floor care, sanitation, landscaping, snow removal, and upkeep of indoor/outdoor common areas.
- Conduct regular inspections and respond to work orders to identify, prioritize, and resolve safety, maintenance, and operational issues.
- Monitor life safety systems and ensure compliance with health, fire, and safety standards while maintaining accurate records and inventory.
- Support overall facility operations including vendor coordination, equipment upkeep, emergency/on-call response, and collaboration with staff and residents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or skilled trade certification preferred
- 2+ years of general building maintenance experience, preferably in residential, healthcare, or senior living environments
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with sensitivity to the needs of older adults
- Able to perform physical work including lifting to 50 lbs. and standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and other physical tasks for extended periods
