About the Role

As an Operations Engineer at Amazon, you will lead and manage the lifecycle of challenging cross-functional projects, developing and delivering the next generation of sortation and distribution solutions. You will play an integral part in planning and implementation of the facility network infrastructure, including new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with internal and external teams to successfully manage the lifecycle of projects, acting as the owner in delivering on project objectives and targets.
  • Actively participate in firm engineering reviews, making tangible impacts on proposed solutions, systems architecture, and facility processes.
  • Partner with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to set project priorities, establish milestones, and drive schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Proactively assess stakeholders’ dependencies and milestones, problem-solve, and drive solutions to mitigate issues.
  • Lead and coordinate execution efforts in delivering systems and automated equipment designs per established standards and guidelines.
  • Perform equipment/systems installation, throughput, and safety qualifications, simplifying and optimizing processes.
  • Lead effective meetings, document discussions, decisions, and future steps, ensuring alignment with internal and external partners.
  • Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans, providing clear and concise summaries to leadership.
  • Articulate system and equipment designs, including layouts, technical specifications, and functional capabilities, to internal customers and partner teams.
  • Manage change order controls, purchase orders, and invoice validation/approvals.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple projects.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance Engineering and cross-team efficiencies.
  • Travel up to 80% domestically, including weekends, for project execution and coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in engineering, including a supervisory role managing people.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production, or manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automated equipment, including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance systems.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $91,800.00 - $137,700.00 USD annually, depending on location (USA, AZ, Tempe; USA, CO, Denver; USA, GA, Atlanta; USA, IL, Chicago; USA, MN, Minneapolis; USA, TX, Irving; USA, VA, Arlington; USA, WA, Bellevue).

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
