About the role

Support day-to-day execution for a subset of North America last-mile delivery stations and take ownership to quickly remove or alleviate capacity constraints. Serve as an ambassador for the Capacity Engineering team, helping others understand the space and identifying opportunities for collaboration. Work in Last Mile transportation and logistics supporting the Amazon Stores business and package delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop 24-hour operations clocks which optimize the use of time while balancing competing objectives
• Influence building design decisions through high-judgment evaluation of constraints and available solutions
• Drive capacity alignment between capacity planning tools and dependent tools & systems
• Write effective documents for diverse audiences, including senior leaders
• Actively drive progress across multiple efforts in parallel, independently managing priorities and relationships with other teams to effectively deliver results
• Model and create capacity plans for Last Mile delivery stations in the US and Canada
• Develop methods to calculate and improve capacity for sortation and delivery processes
• Use Microsoft Excel, SQL, and internal AI tools for analysis and planning
• Interact frequently with the Station Capacity Management System (SCMS) to maintain capacity data for hundreds of Amazon buildings
• Focus on capacity maximization through process innovation in vehicle loading and package flow
• Support a new initiative to place Amazon inventory in Last Mile buildings closer to customers to improve delivery speed in the US and Canada

Basic Qualifications

• Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related discipline and 2 years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation
• Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related discipline followed by 5 years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation
• Must have experience in the following:
  • Modeling real-world constraints and using data or metrics to justify decisions with meaningful impact on an organization or department
  • Communicating with diverse stakeholders and senior leaders both verbally and through written documents

Pay

• Salary range: $96,416 - $114,900 per year in Bellevue, WA
• Sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package

40 hours / week, 8:00am - 5:00pm
