About the role
Support day-to-day execution for a subset of North America last-mile delivery stations and take ownership to quickly remove or alleviate capacity constraints.
Develop 24-hour operations clocks which optimize the use of time while balancing competing objectives.
Influence building design decisions through high-judgment evaluation of constraints and available solutions.
Drive capacity alignment between capacity planning tools and dependent tools & systems.
Responsibilities
- Write effective documents for diverse audiences, including senior leaders
- Serve as an ambassador for the Capacity Engineering team, helping others understand the space and identifying opportunities for collaboration
- Actively drive progress across multiple efforts in parallel, independently managing priorities and relationships with other teams to effectively deliver results
- Work in Last Mile transportation and logistics supporting the Amazon Stores business and package delivery
- Model and create capacity plans for Last Mile delivery stations in the US and Canada
- Develop methods to calculate and improve capacity for sortation and delivery processes
- Use Microsoft Excel, SQL, and internal AI tools for analysis and planning
- Interact frequently with the Station Capacity Management System (SCMS) to maintain capacity data for hundreds of Amazon buildings
- Focus on capacity maximization through process innovation in vehicle loading and package flow
- Support a new initiative to place Amazon inventory in Last Mile buildings closer to customers to improve delivery speed in the US and Canada
Requirements
Must have experience in the following:
- Modeling real-world constraints and using data or metrics to justify decisions with meaningful impact on an organization or department
- Communicating with diverse stakeholders and senior leaders both verbally and through written documents
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related discipline and 2 years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related discipline followed by 5 years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation.

Benefits
Base pay range for this position in Bellevue, WA is $96416 - $114900 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
