Operations Engineer

Responsibilities
- Cook up safe and efficient operations to hit production and quality goals within budget.
- Supervise unionized wage and salaried non-union personnel.
- Manage budgeting and cost control efforts.
- Identify opportunities for cost and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure personnel are adequately trained to perform their jobs.
- Direct outside contractors as needed.
- Interact with raw material suppliers, first layer of buyers/customers, and corporate personnel in S&OP business planning, procurement, and capital planning.
- Support the operation of the unit with direct reports, including team managers and process engineers.
Requirements
- Proficiency in engineering, quality assurance, safety, chemical processes, and reliability.
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing/operations supervision, focusing on OEE, cost management, quality, KPI management, and operation unit results.
- Experience with cross-functional teams and presenting to upper-level management.
- Understanding of OSHA and PSM regulations.
Essential Skills
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or strong experience in chemical manufacturing.
- Experience working in a union environment is beneficial but not mandatory.
