Drive energy trucks over established routes, build and maintain customer relationships, and deliver LP and petroleum products (fuel, oil, etc.) to customer residences, farms, and commercial businesses. Record transactions, obtain customer signatures, and handle collections on deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Establish efficient routes and schedules to maximize customer satisfaction and profitable company operation.
  • Grow and maintain customer relationship base and gallons with contracts, summer fills, and promotional programs.
  • Assist in product selection and advise on the use and application of products sold.
  • Install fuel pumps and repair petroleum equipment for customers.
  • Install LP equipment, complete annual leak checks, and public assemblies.
  • Deliver products to customers and service customer tanks and equipment.
  • Handle collections of accounts and credit forms for new accounts.
  • Contract energy products and address customer complaints promptly.
  • Maintain Fuel 24 facilities in a neat and professional manner.
  • Inform customers of new products or services and communicate sales leads to energy salesperson.
  • Complete daily sales reports and inventory of truck and energy plant.
  • Organize and communicate customer needs regarding equipment repair and summer tank painting.
  • Maintain field equipment, assist in operations when not driving, and operate ticket creation software.
  • Maintain truck and plant equipment according to company standards and perform routine maintenance.
  • Work additional hours to meet seasonal demands and ensure order completion.
  • Adhere to company environmental, health, and safety policies and complete required safety training.
  • May serve on the location Safety Committee.
  • Exercise initiative or perform additional duties as directed to meet organizational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One to two years or more of related work experience.
  • Appropriate driver’s license, CDL with Hazmat, Tank, and air brakes endorsements.
  • Must pass required CEPT schooling and be insurable to operate required vehicles.
  • Proven professional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including computation of rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of company computer programs, such as ticket-making software.
  • Ability to operate required vehicles and equipment.
  • Reasoning ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

  • Considerable strenuous physical activity, including frequent climbing of tall ladders and lifting heavy objects (70+ pounds).

Work Environment

  • Involves risks with frequent exposure to potentially dangerous situations requiring a range of precautions.
  • Significant opportunity for personal injury if an error or mishap occurs.
