About the role
Bay Advanced Technologies, an Applied Fluid Power subsidiary, is seeking an Operations Director to lead and manage all operational functions at the location. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations management, or a related field, with at least 10 years of experience in operations or general management, preferably in a tech manufacturing/distribution setting.
Responsibilities
- Hold responsibility for the leadership and direction of all operational functions at the location, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives and driving profitability.
- Ensure production targets are met in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining product quality.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all operational functions.
- Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and cost through structured improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with company goals.
- Identify growth opportunities, including new markets, partnerships, and product lines.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on business development initiatives.
- Support company P&L objectives, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Analyze operational costs and implement cost-saving measures.
- Ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, and reporting standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams (Production, Logistics, Engineering).
- Foster a high-performance culture focusing on accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Recruit and develop top talent to support growth and operational excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through timely delivery and exceptional service.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and logistics providers.
- Oversee optimization of ERP, MRP, and other operational systems.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in operations or general management, preferably in a tech manufacturing/distribution setting.
- Proven history in managing complex supply chains and high-mix low-volume manufacturing operations.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality Management Systems.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
