Operations Coordinator - Mill Scheduling

About the Role

This position supports manufacturing operations by coordinating schedules, work orders, and data entry tasks within the mill and lamination departments.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute mill schedules to appropriate individuals at specific times throughout the day.
  • Print and distribute work orders for the mill and lamination departments.
  • Coordinate expedite requests from the assembly department.
  • Perform various data entry tasks, including:
    • Scrap entry
    • Communication with planning regarding work order changes
    • Cycle count requests
    • Maintenance work orders (as needed)
  • Track compliance and manage schedules, including researching unsatisfied work order quantities.
  • Perform floor counts as part of schedule management when required.
  • Complete additional tasks as deemed necessary by the department manager or supervisor.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in supply chain and parts expediting; manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, including understanding of PHI (Protected Health Information).
  • Experience working in a team environment to meet or exceed goals.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Skills

  • Communications: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and technical journals, financial reports, and manufacturing documentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, clients, regulatory agencies, and the public. Ability to develop and deliver presentations to production teams, plant-level teams, or public groups.
  • Mathematical: Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for manufacturing and financial performance recording. Ability to read and use a tape measure.
  • Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Environment

  • Typical indoor manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection may be required on the production floor.
  • Safety glasses are required on the production floor.
  • Off-shift work and occasional weekend work may be required.
