Operations Coordinator

About the role

The Boring Company is building technology to dramatically increase tunneling speed and lower costs, aiming to make Hyperloop adoption viable and enable rapid transit across densely populated regions. We are seeking a sharp, operations‑focused coordinator who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity environment, takes ownership, and executes without needing repeated direction. No prior construction experience is required—strong operational instincts, high urgency, and a willingness to put in the work are essential.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling & Planning: Build and maintain detailed operational schedules and labor plans; coordinate tightly with engineering and business operations leaders; own timelines and deliverables end‑to‑end.
• Resource Management: Allocate people, equipment, and materials effectively; continuously track and adjust resource allocation as priorities and constraints shift.
• Risk & Problem Solving: Spot potential conflicts or delays early and drive practical solutions; build contingency plans and keep stakeholders informed.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work directly with engineering and field teams to keep everyone aligned on priorities and deadlines; deliver clear, regular updates on progress and status.
• Continuous Improvement: Analyze operational data, surface trends, and push process improvements so the team can move faster and more efficiently.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 3+ years of experience in operations, logistics, scheduling, or a similarly execution‑heavy role (any industry).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively with both leaders and frontline teams.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple workstreams without dropping balls.
• Proven problem‑solver who identifies issues early and drives solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, or high‑intensity environment.
• Demonstrated ability to operate with high agency and ownership.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.
• Track record of grinding through hard problems and delivering results under pressure.
