About the role

This position is responsible for the overall management and direction of the daily inspection workload and business operations, including monitoring and scheduling all Inspectors in support of our daily business operations and customers in the Oil, Gas and Chemical industry. The role requires independent judgment and decision-making on matters of significant importance to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and feedback to the inspection staff within the Branch on a daily basis.
  • May give input on disciplinary actions and other employee decisions for field staff.
  • Serve as liaison with the laboratory and clients.
  • Manage the operating files of the company and input critical and key data into customer databases of major oil, gas, and chemical companies, requiring a high level of technical knowledge specific to the industry.
  • Direct coordination with customers, refineries, and shipping agencies to manage and make independent technical decisions on critical marine vessel logistics, representing millions of dollars of product.
  • Schedule field staff accordingly.
  • Review and approve time logs submitted by inspectors.
  • Manage Branch daily and monthly calibration records to ensure they are up to date.
  • Ensure inspectors comply with company procedures for Safety, Field Operations, and Reporting.
  • Understand and comply with Company procedures for Safety, Field Operations, and reporting, as well as individual Client Instructions and requirements.
  • Conduct regular client visits and coordinate with the sales group on client visits.
  • Use technical knowledge to direct field work, including field audits, implementing new client procedures, and mentoring field employees.
  • Act as branch manager on duty during off-hours (5 PM to 8 AM), as required by the customer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required).
  • Three (3) years of industry-related coordination experience (Required).
  • Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field (Preferred).
  • Five (5) years of industry-related coordination experience (Preferred).

  • High level of accuracy with special attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to read and comprehend labels and instructions.
  • Dependable and reliable; daily presence contributes to the success of the Department.
  • Ability to follow instructions independently with little or no supervision.
  • Physical ability to lift bulky items up to 50 pounds; climb, bend, and reach without restriction.
  • Excellent customer service skills to interact with customers and independently make decisions to meet customer requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills to achieve goals.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines on multiple projects.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and systematically compile technical and financial information into comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to independently plan, organize, and complete a variety of projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Self-motivated and willing to work unconventional hours to support Oil, Gas, and Chemical (OGC) operations.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
