Responsibilities

  • Safely operate chemical manufacturing units and lead operations personnel.

  • Ensure compliance with PSM, Responsible Care®, environmental regulations, quality requirements, and company policies.

  • Drive operational excellence through safety leadership, process discipline, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinate daily operations activities to achieve production targets while maintaining product quality and equipment operating limits.

  • Support plant startup, shutdown, turnaround, and emergency response activities as required.

  • Develop, review, and maintain operating procedures, work instructions, and operating standards for assigned units.

  • Participate in PHA recommendations, PSSR, operational readiness reviews, and reliability improvement initiatives.

  • Support Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality, and Responsible Care® initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong commitment to safety and process safety leadership.

  • Knowledge of chemical manufacturing operations and highly hazardous chemical processes.

  • Understanding of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Effective leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.

  • Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency with production reporting and operational systems.

  • Ability to respond to operational emergencies and support off-hours activities as needed.

  • Ability to work additional hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant operating/logistics/engineering experience in a process industry such as petrochemical or refinery required.

  • Prior experience as a Production Specialist, Operations Maintenance Coordinator, Shift Supervisor, or Plant Engineer; or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a full-time supervisory position required.
