Responsibilities
Safely operate chemical manufacturing units and lead operations personnel.
Ensure compliance with PSM, Responsible Care®, environmental regulations, quality requirements, and company policies.
Drive operational excellence through safety leadership, process discipline, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate daily operations activities to achieve production targets while maintaining product quality and equipment operating limits.
Support plant startup, shutdown, turnaround, and emergency response activities as required.
Develop, review, and maintain operating procedures, work instructions, and operating standards for assigned units.
Participate in PHA recommendations, PSSR, operational readiness reviews, and reliability improvement initiatives.
Support Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality, and Responsible Care® initiatives.
Requirements
Strong commitment to safety and process safety leadership.
Knowledge of chemical manufacturing operations and highly hazardous chemical processes.
Understanding of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Effective leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with production reporting and operational systems.
Ability to respond to operational emergencies and support off-hours activities as needed.
Ability to work additional hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 5 years relevant operating/logistics/engineering experience in a process industry such as petrochemical or refinery required.
Prior experience as a Production Specialist, Operations Maintenance Coordinator, Shift Supervisor, or Plant Engineer; or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a full-time supervisory position required.
