Job Description
The Manager of Bankruptcy Proof of Claim Operations leads a team responsible for the preparation, review, filing, and amendment of bankruptcy Proofs of Claim (POCs) and Amended Proofs of Claim (APOCs). This role ensures the organization preserves its creditor rights through timely, accurate, and compliant filing of claims in bankruptcy proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Ensures timely, accurate, and compliant filing of claims in bankruptcy proceedings
- Partners closely with Legal, Compliance, Bankruptcy Operations, Risk Management, Audit, and Technology teams to ensure all bankruptcy claim processes are executed in accordance with applicable bankruptcy laws, court rules, company policies, and internal procedures
- Accounts for operational performance, regulatory compliance, risk management, employee development, process improvement, and the administration of controls designed to prevent missed filing deadlines and claim inaccuracies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five to eight years of experience in collections and financial services industry
- Two or more years of management/supervisory experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Thorough knowledge of loan collection techniques, policies, procedures, and principles of credit lending
- Strong understanding of collection laws and regulations
- Thorough knowledge of consumer, residential, commercial and/or dealer originated installment lending as applicable
- Basic knowledge of on-line collection systems
- Thorough knowledge of general organizational operations and procedures
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Good managerial skills
- Able to resolve moderate problems with minimal guidance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
