Operations Analyst

About the role

Maven is a market-leading proprietary trading firm deploying its own capital across discretionary, systematic, and market-making strategies. We are seeking a highly motivated and technically adept individual to join our expanding operations team in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring of US trading activity and responding to trader inquiries including booking trades, position organization, and drop copy/FIX messaging monitoring
• Daily monitoring and resolution of trade breaks and fails with prime brokers, clearers, and counterparties
• Daily monitoring and processing of trade lifecycle and corporate action activity in line with trading desk decisions and prime broker elections
• Reconciliation of all trade & cash activity, PnL, positions, and cash balances across all relevant portfolios and accounts
• Work closely with line manager, managing duties and tasks set in a proactive organized manner
• Monitor group email inbox in relation to resolving breaks, settlement activity, fails, buy-ins etc as necessary
• Assist London & Hong Kong Operations teams as needed during US hours
• Perform BAU duties to a high standard and provide assistance in team projects

Requirements

• BA in business/accounting/finance or related discipline
• 2-5 years operational experience gained at a market making or proprietary trading firm
• Ability to respond in an accurate manner to queries from front office and other Business Support Teams
• Experience working in a high-pressure & high-volume environment with ability to deliver results in time sensitive situations
• Knowledge of equity and listed derivative instruments including lifecycle events such as corporate actions and exercise / assignments, respectively
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Knowledge of VBA/Python/SQL is advantageous

Annual base compensation $85,000 - $110,000 USD plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
