Key Responsibilities
- Validate and process metal receipts while resolving pricing discrepancies, non-receipts, and purchase order variances
- Partner with vendors and plants to resolve Advance Shipping Notification (ASN) issues
- Support communication and issue resolution related to supplier payments and procurement discrepancies
- Prepare and analyze metal price variances and customer pass-through reporting
- Complete monthly journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis
- Review and investigate freight invoices and related discrepancies
- Process mill and vendor claims and support monthly executive reporting
- Maintain and revise standard costs for steel coils and support ongoing cost accounting initiatives
- Reconcile utility invoices and distribute findings to plant leadership teams
- Support ad hoc analysis, process improvements, and cross-functional accounting projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing accounting, inventory accounting, operations accounting, or cost accounting environments
- Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE) or similar ERP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reconciliation modeling
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with finance and operational teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
