Operations Accountant
About the role
As an Operations Accountant for Waterloo Works, you will support the factory operations in the following areas:
- Overhead and capital budgets primarily supporting the Drivetrain Assembly and Maintenance organizations as well as other support areas
- Monthly Reporting including the maintenance of the factory overhead budget reporting PowerBI
- Ad hoc requests supporting factory operations
This position is onsite in Waterloo, IA. At the discretion of the hiring manager, the role may also be based at a John Deere facility in the Quad City area, Des Moines, IA, or Dubuque, IA. For locations outside of Waterloo, regular travel to Waterloo is required. During the initial onboarding and training period, an increased onsite presence in Waterloo will be expected.
Responsibilities
- Support overhead and capital budgeting for factory operations
- Maintain and report on factory overhead budgets using PowerBI
- Respond to ad hoc financial requests from factory operations
Requirements
- 1 to 3 or more years of relevant work experience in finance/accounting
- Experience working with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or equivalent
- Knowledge of accounting fundamentals (debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgets, etc.)
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with team members and the business
Qualifications
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (others may apply)
