Accountant

Hybrid position located in Collierville, TN. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location and will be required to work at the FedEx campus several times per week. This position is not eligible for relocation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, and/or budget variance reviews.
• Research and analyze assigned large elements of revenue and expense and the related internal reporting.
• Ensure assigned general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance with internal controls and GAAP; test and document internal control risks in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Coordinate and communicate with business partners, providing guidance regarding accounting policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, primarily focused on accounting duties surrounding Jet Fuel for FedEx planes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or other related quantitative discipline is required. Related experience may offset degree requirements, and related education/degree may offset experience requirements.
• Two (2) years of experience in accounting for financial reporting in a public accounting firm or in a large for-profit corporate environment.

Skills

• Strong analytical and financial analysis skills.
• Working knowledge of GAAP standards.
• Proficient in business software, spreadsheet applications, and/or mainframe or web-based applications.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
