Accountant

Responsibilities

• Aids in the accounting of costs for the Corporation.
• Participates in the month-end close process, preparing balance sheet account reconciliations, and maintaining strong cash flows.
• Ensures responsiveness and professionalism in addressing financial systems requests for reports, information support, training, and system enhancements.
• Supports finance staff in resolving critical close issues.
• Assists with general ledger account and program reconciliations, researching issues for external and government compliance audits.
• Adheres to a tight general ledger month-end close process.
• Records monthly journal entries accurately.
• Prepares and generates critical month end allocations and/or advices.
• Maintains and reconciles general ledger account balances monthly, including intra-company payables and receivables.
• Focuses on process improvements over the general close and intra-company process.
• Reconciles and analyzes balance sheet accounts in compliance with a strict deadline.
• Supports internal control evaluations, modifying and documenting accounting control procedures.
• Conducts investigations and resolves critical month end complex reconciliations.
• Provides support to compliance and auditors, including significant research, data mining/reports, and resolution of finance systems questions as required.
• Assists the Cost and General Ledger Manager on projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years' related experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles.
• Government contracting experience.
• Must be a US citizen.
• CPA designation preferred.

• Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
