About the role

The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation Administrative Services Division is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operational Resources Specialist to join our team in Pierre, SD. This position manages property operations across multiple facilities around the state, ensures effective and efficient use of resources, and supports the Department’s mission. This position also coordinates all purchases in DLR.

Responsibilities

  • Manage property operations for DLR facilities, including facility operations, contract management, and vendor relations.
  • Identify systemic property issues and recommend solutions to leadership.
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and relocation of staff and assets across offices.
  • Lead facility-related projects, including timelines, vendor coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures affecting multiple divisions, ensuring compliance with state standards.
  • Conduct annual ADA compliance reviews.
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory management, asset verification, and technology lifecycle processes.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses when making expensive decisions, consulting with leadership as needed.
  • Collaborate with building designees, division accountants, and other state agencies on leases.

Qualifications

This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act. This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.

$28.54–$35.66/hour, depending on qualifications.
