About the role

The Americas Operational Resilience Department supports Mizuho in managing business disruption risks and ensuring the continuity of critical services. The team works closely with business lines and corporate functions to embed resilience across operations and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support a portfolio of Operational Resilience initiatives across Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain core program deliverables, including policies, procedures, standards, and playbooks supporting resilience capabilities.
  • Build and manage remediation plans arising from testing, assessments, and regulatory reviews, including action tracking, escalation, and reporting.
  • Cook up with business, technology, and corporate stakeholders to drive timely delivery and ensure alignment with the OR framework.

  • Prepare executive-ready materials for senior management and governance forums, including status updates, dashboards, and regulatory submissions.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Operational Resilience framework, standards, and governance practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in financial services risk, Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, or Disaster Recovery.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets and corporate and investment banking operations.
  • Familiarity with Operational Resilience frameworks, including governance, scenario testing, recovery planning, and crisis management.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting projects, including planning, stakeholder coordination, and execution tracking.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory expectations, including: BCBS Principles for Operational Resilience, U.S. Federal Reserve, OCC, and FDIC guidance, PRA / FCA requirements.

Pay

The expected base salary ranges from $119,000.00 to $185,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.

Schedule

Mizuho has an in-place hybrid working program, with varying opportunities for remote work depending on the nature of the role, needs of your department, as well as local laws and regulatory obligations.
