Operational Excellence Training Lead
Job Summary
The Operational Excellence Training Lead supports employee and workforce development by deploying on-the-job technical training, coordinating cross-training and onboarding activities, supporting the certification and development of trainers, and facilitating technical classes focused on Continuous Improvement (CI) principles to prepare employees to participate in improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions
- Lead onboarding and cross training efforts by coordinating and facilitating orientation and training schedules.
- Maintain operational proficiency to support instruction directly or through certified trainers.
- Ensure effective use of MES training verification tools and reports.
- Advance continuous improvement efforts by delivering CI-focused technical training and collaborate within Operations to align with active initiatives.
- Identify and execute opportunities to eliminate waste and improve efficiency in training systems, processes, and business workflows through audits, standard work assessments, data analysis, and/or curriculum reviews.
- Support team problem-solving activities and sustain improvements.
- Oversee training program administration by managing records and training curricula and maintaining standardized materials and documentation.
- Track and analyze training metrics and cross training matrices to identify improvements.
- Conduct technical assessments of trainers and trainees in alignment with program requirements.
- Promote employee engagement and trainer capability by encouraging idea submission and feedback through employee suggestion and feedback systems.
- Maintain internal communication forums, plan engagement activities, and support the Certified Trainer program by delivering instruction and coaching to trainers to strengthen their technical competence.
Required/Preferred Education And Experience
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a team lead or trainer required.
- Experience with medical device manufacturing and/or FDA-regulated environment preferred.
- Experience leading or training others in production environments preferred.
- Experience teaching or facilitating technical training programs preferred.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to adjust training approach to accommodate diverse learning styles required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment required.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other CI Methodologies required.
- Demonstrated drive and commitment to achieving high standards required.
- High commitment to maintaining accountability, continuous improvement, and personal growth required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively build positive relationships that foster trust, achieve shared goals, and influence outcomes without direct authority required.

- Exposure to project management and familiarity with digital project management and collaboration tools (e.g. Smartsheet, Jira, SharePoint, etc.) preferred.

Pay
The Hourly Pay Rate For This Position Is $23.00 to $27.00 Factors which may affect this rate include shift, geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
