Operational Excellence Engineer Staff
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in process improvement, operations engineering, or consulting roles within a large, complex organization (defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or similar)
- Leverage Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or higher) OR demonstrate ability to apply Lean Six Sigma Black Belt skills and techniques with documented project leadership and results (e.g., $MM savings, % reduction in lead time)
Consulting
- Proven track record of acting as a consultant—designing problem-solving approaches, facilitating workshops, and delivering actionable recommendations to senior executives
Leadership
- Ability to influence without direct authority; strong stakeholder management across diverse functional groups
Clearance
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, therefore must be a US Citizen
Travel
- Willingness to travel 80-100%
Job Description
You will be the Operations Excellence Engineer for the MFC LSS Organization. Our team is responsible for driving process improvement, increasing value delivery, and supporting strategic initiatives.
What You Will Be Doing
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Embed within functional teams to assess, prioritize, and execute improvement opportunities.
- Deploy to suppliers and sites to eliminate waste and drive sustainable solutions.
- Apply Lean/Six Sigma tools such as 6S, Standard Work, Visual Management, FMEA, and Control Charts to identify root causes.
- Define KPIs, track metrics, and deliver quantified results including cost savings and cycle-time reductions.
- Prepare executive briefings and dashboards that translate technical findings into strategic business language.
