Operational Buyer - Vacaville, CA

About the Role

As an Operational Buyer, you will be part of the Global Capital Sourcing team, responsible for the commercial management of large and medium green or brown field CAPEX schemes (minimum project size/spend of 5M USD). The role aims to protect rights and entitlements as provided in contracts, ensure contractors' obligations are fulfilled, optimize value-for-money, reduce contract risks, achieve the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and support on-time, on-schedule, quality, and in-cost project purchases to drive growth investments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and audit purchasing records, purchase orders, and supplier data in SAP.
• Function as an embedded analyst—pull and manipulate raw procurement data to create actionable reports.
• Handle supplier complaints and resolve invoice, delivery, or fulfillment issues.
• Manage day-to-day purchasing workflows independently with minimal supervision.
• Mitigate risks related to contract creation and execution.
• Identify cost-benefit solutions to complex contractual matters, including regular delivery and close-out of complex negotiations with external stakeholders and consultants.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in operational procurement or supply chain, or a combination with a degree in data analysis.
• Proficient in SAP and advanced data manipulation (Excel/BI tools).

Skills

• Strong problem-solver and self-directed.
• Detail-oriented with efficient and patient communication skills, especially with vendors.

Schedule

5 days per week onsite in Vacaville, CA.

Contract Duration: 6 months with opportunities for extension.
