About the role

The Procedural Service Line Coordinator oversees the daily operations of a specific service line, interacts with surgeons and proceduralists, coordinates case flow, manages inventory, and ensures nursing quality measures are met.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily operations, staffing, and case flow for assigned service line surgeons/proceduralists.
  • Manages inventory, instruments, supplies, and equipment for selected service line surgeons/proceduralists.
  • Affectionately assists, educates, and supports nursing quality measures in the procedural environment.
  • Communicates with surgeons, proceduralists, vendors, staff, and leadership about case schedules and flow.
  • Fosters relationships with physicians to maintain service line specialty utilization.
  • Maintains quality standards for responsive service and professional documentation.
  • Supports administrative duties such as preparing for regulatory agency reviews, identifying cost containment methods, coordinating unit staffing schedules, and addressing concerns with the Nurse Manager.
  • Facilitates daily operational issues with staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a bachelor's degree in nursing; or graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate's degree in nursing and at least 2 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in the service line.
  • Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; applicable specialty certifications may be required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing or Associate's degree in nursing with relevant experience.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience preferred in a procedural area and a minimum of 6 months in the service line.
