Operating Room Nurse PRN - Float Pool

About the Role

As the Float Pool OR Nurse, you will contribute to the company’s mission and vision by utilizing the nursing process in planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care given to the surgical patient during the intra-operative period. You will rotate to other ambulatory surgery center facilities within the HCA Healthcare network.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures and oversee instrument and equipment set-up.
• Prepare for cases utilizing preference cards and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
• Coordinate and oversee the room during a case as the circulator.
• Facilitate effective and efficient transitions between surgical procedures.
• Utilize and update preference cards as necessary.
• Relay appropriate hand-off communication to PACU staff to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an operating room setting; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• Valid BCLS & ACLS Certifications required upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• PALS certification (within 90 days, or earlier per department arrangement).
• CNOR certification preferred.
