Operating Room Environmental Services Technician

About the role

The Environmental Services Technician position at Sanford Health is dedicated to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas. The role involves tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, and using various cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors as needed.
• Use brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines as appropriate.
• Apply knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment to ensure a clean and sterile environment.
• May assist in the laundry areas as needed.
• Use technology applications as available and necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use a computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Qualifications

Pay

$17.20 - $22.50 per hour.

Schedule

This position requires working evenings and full-time hours, with potential for overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
